The Himalayan Zoological Park
The Himalayan Zoological Park which is only 1 KM from the Gangtok exhibits the fauna of the Himalayas in their natural habitats. The zoo features the Himalayan Black Bear, the barking deer, the snow leopard, the leopard cat, Tibetan wolf, Masked Palm Civet, red pandas and the spotted deer amongst the others. According to the legends, Enchey Monastery was built on the site blessed by Lama Druptob Karpo, a Tantric master known for his power of flying. Originally Lama Druptob Karpo, had built a small hermitage at this spot while flying here from Maenam Hill in South Sikkim, more than two hundred yeas ago. The present monastery was built in 1901, during the hegemony of the Sikyong Tulku.

It is a very small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, a diety worshipped by Hindus. The temple is so small in size that it can hardly accommodate one person and one has to crawl to get inside it. It is located on the hill adjoining the TV Tower. It is on a hillock on Gangtok-Nathula Road.
